President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday evening met with Senate President Godswill Akpabio at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

Also at the Villa were a House of Representatives member, Alhassan Ado Doguwa, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Gboyega Oyetola, and the Minister of Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake.

The officials arrived at different times for separate engagements with the President.

As of the time of filing this report, the agenda of the meetings could not be ascertained.

Oyetola’s visit to the President came a few days after his successor, Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, was declared the winner of the August 15 governorship election.

DAILY POST reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, had set today, Wednesday, August 19, 2026, for the commencement of political campaigns ahead of the 2027 elections.
