Jason Kelce has been looking noticeably slimmer in recent months — and not everybody is happy about it.

During a discussion with his brother, Travis Kelce, on their “New Heights” podcast on Wednesday, May 13, Jason, 38, explained how his weight loss has come with a downside.

“Nobody liked me until I became fat. And as I get skinnier, people hate me more and more,” Jason argued.

The former Philadelphia Eagles center has been proactive about shedding some cargo since he retired from the NFL in March 2024.

In May 2025, Jason exclusively told Us Weekly that he weighed in at 270 pounds, a 25-pound weight loss since his playing days.

“I don’t really want to get below 250,” he said. “So, I think somewhere between 250 and 265. We’ll see where it goes.”

The conversation between Jason and Travis, 36, was spurned by a podcast listener who wrote in asking the brothers what Disney movie they’d want to live in forever.

“I’m saying Heavyweights, man. That s*** was so f***ing funny,” Travis said of the 1995 comedy set at a youth weight loss camp, starring Ben Stiller

Travis added, “All the fat kids when we were growing up, they ended up being the funniest, most enjoyable to be around.”

“That’s true,” Jason said. “Fat people are just better.”

In fact, Travis suggested that Jason’s success on the football field was directly related to him putting on some weight.

“You didn’t get good until you got fat,” Travis told him with a laugh.

Jason didn’t waste much time in losing weight after his retirement, telling GQ in June 2024 that he was already “down 20 pounds.”

“It’s hard to imagine another nearly 20 pounds coming off, being honest with you,” Jason said at the time. “But my back already feels better. My knees already feel better. So another 20 pounds hopefully will make that much more adept at playing with my children.”

Jason and his wife, Kylie Kelce, share four daughters: Wyatt, 6, Ellie, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finn, 13 months.

“I don’t want to get too small,” Jason added. “I think a lot of guys, especially offensive linemen, they lose too much weight, and then they look like bobbleheads because their neck gets so small, but their head stays the same size. … I’ll still be big and be happy with the way I look without having a six-pack. But I’ll still be able to have that stature a little bit.”
