  • Professional women reporting no sleep disturbances had the longest working life expectancy of almost 14 years from age 50.
  • Men in routine roles with low education levels who slept for more than nine hours a night had the shortest working life expectancy of six years and five months.
  • Researchers suggested that supporting good-quality sleep of recommended durations could help older individuals continue working.
