Chief Sir Joseph Ebere Ezeokafor, chairman of Jezco Group of Companies and father of popular social media personality, Jowi Zaza, on Monday returned to his hometown of Ekwulobia in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State, where he was warmly welcomed and celebrated by his kinsmen.

Ezeokafor regained his freedom on Friday night after spending close to two weeks in the custody of his abductors.

A video of his return, which was posted on social media, showed rural women flooding his expansive compound when they learnt of his return, with many of them taking turns to hug the billionaire.

Some of the women were seen lying on the ground and thanking God for his safe return.

The Anambra State Police Command had on Saturday confirmed the release of Ezeokafor and a Rev Sister who were abducted by armed men at Ifite-Awka.

According to the command, the two victims had safely returned, while security agencies were taking steps to establish the circumstances surrounding their release and gather information that could assist ongoing investigations.

Ezeokafor, a septuagenarian, was abducted in the early hours of Tuesday while reportedly on his way to a prayer ground in Awka, Anambra State.
