Almost half of UK holidaymakers stress about money while on holiday
- Research by thinkmoney reveals that financial anxiety shadows many UK holidaymakers, with 42 per cent spending most of their getaway trying to switch off or never fully managing to disconnect.
- Only 27 per cent of travellers with money concerns relax straight away, whilst it typically takes up to three days for just over half of stressed holidaymakers to leave their worries behind.
- Holidaymakers from the West Midlands, East Midlands, and London are among the least likely to shake off money anxieties after the first day of their trip.
- Travellers from Scotland and Yorkshire and the Humber were the most likely to report spending most of their holiday worrying or failing to switch off entirely.
- Consumer expert Vix Leyton advised holidaymakers to set a budget, check upcoming household bills, and monitor banking apps to prevent overspending.
