‘Spider-Man’ achieves another impressive milestone at the box office

Marvel blockbuster Spider-Man: Brand New Day, starring Tom Holland, has officially surpassed $2 billion at the global box office, grossing $785 million in North America and $1.23 billion internationally to reach a total of $2.022 billion.
The superhero film achieved this milestone just three weekends after its release, making it the second-fastest movie in history to cross the $2 billion threshold behind 2019’s Avengers: Endgame.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the film becomes only the eighth movie ever to hit $2 billion worldwide, outperforming its 2021 predecessor, Spider-Man: No Way Home, which finished at $1.9 billion.
The film has earned strong critical acclaim, with The Independent‘s Clarisse Loughrey awarding it four stars and praising it as the best Spider-Man movie in more than 20 years.
The release features an unusual post-credits scene with no actors on screen, showing a device tracking the superhero and dropping a pin in outer space to hint at his next destination.
