  • Werro claimed gold in a championship record time of 1:54.81, ahead of Hodgkinson’s 1:55.01, with Femke Broeders-Bol taking bronze.
  • The Swiss athlete won the final despite uncertainty over her fitness following a fall and reinstatement to the final following an appeal.
  • Zharnel Hughes secured silver for Great Britain in the men’s 200m final after being beaten by Germany’s Owen Ansah.
  • Hughes’ medal took Great Britain’s total tally to 10 medals at the European Championships.
