Andy Burnham to consult small businesses on long-term Government support
- Andy Burnham is consulting small business owners during a tour in Devon to explore how the Government can support long-term economic growth.
- A 20 per cent business rates relief package has been introduced to ease cost-of-living pressures for pubs, social clubs and live music venues.
- The Prime Minister said ahead of the visit: “Local businesses are the beating heart of our communities, bringing life to the places we call home.”
- Further economic support, including broader high street business rates relief and VAT cuts on electricity, is being considered for the Budget on 28 October.
- UKHospitality chief executive Allen Simpson welcomed the consultation with local employers to help boost job creation across the UK.
