Taylor Farms recalls salsa and popular dips over salmonella concerns
- Taylor Fresh Foods has issued a recall for products containing jalapeños, including guacamole, pico de gallo, and taco dip, due to potential salmonella contamination.
- The action follows a recall by Coast Citrus Distributors linked to a Sinaloa, Mexico grower, whose jalapeños are tied to a multistate salmonella outbreak that has sickened 345 people and hospitalized 36 across 27 states.
- The recalled items feature Best If Used By dates through August 16, 2026, and were sold at major retail stores including Kroger, Stop & Shop, Target, Whole Foods, Trader Joe’s, and Walmart. The full list of products is available on the FDA website.
- Taylor Fresh Foods has ceased sourcing from the Mexican farm and reported no known illnesses tied directly to its jalapeño products, advising consumers to throw away affected items for a refund.
- Consumers who have any recalled product are advised to throw it away immediately and avoid eating it. Refunds can be claimed at the original place of purchase.
