Police ‘investigating link between Widdecombe murder and Farage arson attack’

Farage: Reform safety ‘only taken seriously’ after Ann Widdecombe’s death as firebomb probe reopened
  • Counter Terrorism Policing London has reopened an investigation into an attempted arson attack on Nigel Farage‘s home in April 2025.
  • Police are probing potential links between the incendiary device posted through Mr Farage’s letterbox and the murder of Reform UK figure Ann Widdecombe.
  • The police watchdog is investigating a Counter Terrorism staff member over allegations of failing to pursue a key line of inquiry in the initial probe.
  • Joshua Kerry, 28, was charged last month with the murder of Ms Widdecombe, who died following an attack at her home in Devon on 8 July.
  • Mr Farage claimed the attack on his home was directly linked to the murder and argued that security for Reform UK figures had previously been neglected.
