Red Arrows cancel UK events as weather grounds planes overseas

The Red Arrows aerobatics team is stranded in Canada due to adverse weather conditions, delaying their return to the UK.
As a result, the team has been forced to withdraw from three upcoming UK summer events: the Eastbourne International Airshow, the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo, and Lyme Regis Lifeboat Week.
The delay is attributed to the Hawk aircraft’s limited range and the necessity for specific RAF support aircraft and search-and-rescue cover for the Atlantic crossing.
Persistent challenging weather in north-east Canada has prevented the multi-leg journey back to the UK, which is now anticipated to begin next week if conditions improve.
Other RAF aircraft, such as the Typhoon Display Team and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, will still participate in the scheduled events.
