Two teams have been eliminated from the quarter-final stage of the ongoing 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, WAFCON.

DAILY POST reports that the two teams are Ivory Coast and South Africa.

Ivory Coast lost 2-1 against Algeria on Saturday after goals from Inès Khiri and Amira Ould Braham cancelled out Inès Konan’s opening strike.

South Africa also lost 2-1 against hosts Morocco following goals from Sakina Ouzraoui and Hanan Ait El Haj as Thembi Kgatlana’s goal was not enough for Bayana Bayana to progress to the semi-final stage.

More teams will be eliminated from the WAFCON today when Nigeria face Cameroon and Malawi tackle Ghana in the quarter-final.
