Liverpool are one of three Premier League clubs interested in signing Jarrod Bowen this summer. The Reds will head into next season needing attacking recruits to fill the void left by Mohamed Salah.

Hugo Ekitike is also expected to miss a large chunk of next season with his Achilles injury. And it appears that another Premier League star could potentially be on their radar.

According to Mail Online, Liverpool are long-term admirers of West Ham winger Bowen and could potentially make a move. Merseyside rivals Everton are also thought to be interested, with David Moyes keen to be reunited with his former forward.

Newcastle could also consider a move for Bowen as they too attempt to find a replacement for Anthony Gordon, who is attracting interest from German giants Bayern Munich.

Bowen would likely be among those to leave West Ham should the London club suffer relegation to the Championship. The Hammers currently sit 18th and are two points from safety with two games of the season left.

Bowen joined West Ham from Hull City back in 2020 and he has gone on to score 84 goals in 278 appearances. He remains under contract until 2030 but it is believed that he could be allowed to leave for around £60m should West Ham drop into the second tier.

Speaking about his time with West Ham, the 29-year-old said: “I’ve been here six years in January and it’s been, yeah, it’s been crazy. Lots of highs, lots of lows, but honestly loved every single minute of it.

“And, you know, hopefully there’s many more many more games to come. Getting to 500 (appearances) would be something, but I’m trying to do the maths of how old I’ve got to be to figure it all out, you know? We’ll see how the legs hold up over the next seven years or so.”

Despite suggestions he could leave, former West Ham and Liverpool defender Glenn Johnson claimed he could stay even if West Ham are relegated. He said: “I think so, yeah. He’s had links to other clubs, potentially bigger clubs and stuff like that, and this has never happened.

“For whatever reason, he didn’t want it or the club didn’t want it enough. So I think he’s got a chance to stay there, become a club legend.

“They’re a big West Ham family, which is obviously lovely. So for the sake of leaving for potentially the worst two or three years of your career somewhere else and lose that, I’d rather stay.”
