Liverpool have agreed a deal to sign Ronald Araujo from Barcelona on loan.

According to Sky Sports, the transfer could be wrapped up over this weekend.

The deal is a straight loan for the 27-year-old.

Araujo signed a new contract with Barcelona until 2031 last year.

However, he endured a tough season last year and was given an extended leave of absence from the team.

The Uruguay international is now set for a new country and a new league.

Araujo joined Barcelona from Uruguayan side, Boston River in 2018, before being promoted to the first team in 2019.
