Kayden Moy’s evil killer is appealing his life sentence weeks after he was locked up.

Cole Turley, 18, received a minimum sentence of 16 years behind bars for the brutal murder of 16-year-old Kayden Moy at Irvine beach in May last year.

Turley was jailed alongside Jay Stewart, 19, and a 15-year-old – who cannot be named for legal reasons – following a trial at the High Court in Glasgow last month.

The murderer lodged an appeal against the term on August 4. Kayden’s heartbroken family received the news via email.

Police have launched a probe after a car firebomb attack in Dumbarton.

Emergency services were alerted to the incident on Glencairn Road in the town at around 1:25am on Tuesday morning.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service quickly extinguished the blaze and there were no reports of any injuries.

The wife of a man accused of killing a Scottish woman whose body was found in a suitcase in Athens has told how she suspected her husband was involved in Elisabeth-Jane Ross’ disappearance due to his “strange” behaviour.

The 38-year-old from Edinburgh was discovered by a homeless man in a derelict building in the Kypseli area of the Greek capital on July 18.

Sharif Ahmadzai, 26, has been charged with homicide with intent in connection with her death. The Afghan boxer arrived at the Court of First Instance in Athens at around 10.40am local time on Thursday, travelling in the back of a grey Hyundai with blacked-out windows.

Details have emerged from Greece of a statement given to police by his wife, Alaina Hall, who said she became increasingly worried after being unable to contact her friend.

Tributes have poured in for a mum-of-five who was found dead at her home in Aberdeenshire after a man appeared in court for a non-harassment order.

Nichola Anderson, 26, was discovered at a property on Forglen Crescent in Turriff after police were called to a report of concern for a woman at around 10.05am on Thursday, July 30.

Emergency services attended but Nichola was tragically pronounced dead at the scene.

Police Scotland say her death is being treated as unexplained, but is not believed to be suspicious.

Boyfriend killer Tasmin Glass has launched another bid for freedom.

Glass, 27, of Kirriemuir in Angus, will stand before the Parole Board for Scotland on August 12. It will be the seventh time for the killer to appear before the board since she was jailed for ten years in 2019.

The family of her victim, Steven Donaldson, were given the news on Friday – just less than two weeks before the latest hearing.

Speaking to the Press and Journal, Steven’s father Bill said: “For us, the nightmare continues. We just wonder how long this is going to go on for. She continues to show an extraordinary level of disrespect and disregard for the authorities along with a shocking level of arrogance.
