A drug dealer told cops “I’m f****d” when they caught him counting cash in his car in East Kilbride.
The officers found cocaine, cannabis and ecstasy pills during a search of Muhammed Ghani’s vehicle.
Hamilton Sheriff Court heard he was charged and released only to be caught with drugs again six weeks later.
Ghani, 49, of Blaeloch Drive, Castlemilk, admitted being concerned in the supply of drugs and driving with more than 10 times the permitted amount of cocaine in his system.
Daisy Bentley, prosecuting, said plain clothes police officers spotted a vehicle parked on Kittoch Street, East Kilbride, at 10.40pm on December 14, 2024.
She told the court: “The engine was running and the headlights were on.
“The accused was seen talking on his phone and appeared to be counting a large quantity of cash.
“The police officers approached on foot and the accused was unaware of their presence.
“When they knocked on the driver’s window and identified themselves with warrant cards he appeared startled.
“He dropped the money into the footwell and reached for a number of bags, moving them to the footwell also.
“When advised he was being detained for a search the accused said ‘I’m f****d’.
“The officers recovered bags of cocaine, ecstasy and cannabis as well as £2,195 in mixed notes.
“They also seized two phones, one of which was constantly active. The other phone was coated in white powder.”
Ghani was released but arrested again in Stuart Street, East Kilbride, on January 24 last year.
On that occasion he was stopped after officers noticed his car was being driven “erratically”.
Cocaine and cannabis was recovered from the vehicle along with £410 in cash.
Ghani underwent a mouth swab that tested positive for cocaine.
Ms Bentley said the total value of the drugs seized on the two occasions was £6,660.
Sentence on Ghani was deferred until next month for background reports and an electronic tagging assessment.
He was allowed to remain on bail.
