A Rutherglen man who swapped a career in the Royal Navy for housebuilding has continued his rise through the construction industry after being appointed construction manager at Persimmon Homes West Scotland.
Jack Sloss has taken on the senior role with responsibility for supporting construction delivery across Persimmon’s West Scotland region, which spans from Ayrshire to Lanarkshire.
Jack’s career journey began away from construction, serving as an engineer in the Royal Navy in Portsmouth before returning home to South Lanarkshire and starting a new chapter in the industry.
He joined Persimmon in 2020 as an assistant site manager and quickly progressed through the business, being promoted to contracts manager in 2023 before stepping into his new role in July.
In his new position, Jack will work closely with teams across Persimmon Homes West Scotland’s developments, helping deliver high-quality, energy-efficient homes while maintaining the company’s focus on safety, quality and customer satisfaction.
Jack said: “I’m delighted to take on this new role and continue my journey with Persimmon.
“Coming from a Royal Navy background, I learned the importance of leadership, teamwork and problem solving, and those skills have helped me throughout my career in construction.
“Since joining Persimmon, I’ve been given fantastic opportunities to grow and develop, and I’m looking forward to supporting our teams across West Scotland as we continue to deliver high-quality homes for our customers.”
