A Turkish Airlinesjet caught fire on its right landing gear while landing at Kathmandu’s Tribhuvan International Airport on Monday.
All 277 passengers on board the Airbus 330 jet were safely evacuated, with no injuries reported.
Emergency crews responded to control the fire, leading to the closure of Nepal‘s main airport.
The airport shutdown caused several inbound flights to be put on hold while the runway was cleared.
Nepal frequently experiences plane crashes due to its challenging mountainous terrain and variable weather conditions.
