Yogurt fans devastated after Dannon quietly removes beloved product
- Dannon’s coffee yogurt (DCY), a product with a cult following due to its 32 milligrams of caffeine and sweet flavor, was discontinued earlier this year without warning.
- Loyal consumers, some of whom consumed DCY daily for decades, expressed distress and withdrawal symptoms on social media platforms like Facebook and Reddit.
- A petition urging Dannon to reconsider the decision garnered nearly 900 signatures, but the company’s yogurt division president, Rachel Acevedo, stated the decision was final.
- Acevedo, however, hinted at a future return for Dannon Coffee Yogurt, suggesting it would be reimagined to reflect current consumer taste preferences and nutritional benefits.
- In the interim, DCY fans are resorting to buying up remaining stock or sharing DIY recipes on fan pages to replicate the beloved yogurt’s unique taste and consistency.
