A rail worker who thought she had lost a ten pound note has had it returned – by a passing seagull.
Earlier this month train guard Florence Mclean was standing on the platform at Mallaig station in the West Highlands when she dropped a £10 note on the track as the train was about to leave for Fort William.
When the station manager took a look on the track for Florence he was unable to find the cash.
Assuming it had blown away Florence headed back to Fort William.

She was in Mallaig station a few days ago on the same service when she noticed a young seagull flying overhead with a ten pound note in its beak.
It then landed on the track with the tenner in its mouth.
Recognising it as the same £10 she lost 14 days earlier Florence jumped down on to the track and grabbed it from the gull.
Florence, who works on the world famous Jacobite Steam Train, said she was amazed to get the the £10 back intact.
She added: “I had originally gone into my pocket to get the tenner and it just flew out of my hands down on to the line.
“Then two weeks later when I am back at Mallaig and around the same time a seagull flew over me and dropped it on the line.

“I could not believe that the seagull had returned my lost tenner.”
Both incidents coincidentally happened while the train was due to begin its return journey to Fort William.
The Jacobite Steam Train and Malllaig route featured in the Hogwarts Express sequences for the Harry Potter movies.
Florence added:”I remember seeing the seagull with the tenner in its mouth and me shouting: *That’s my ten pounds.’
“It was hilarious.
“After two weeks you would not have believed it.
“I think the tenner has gone under the platform and that is where the seagull has found it.
“It is so bizarre.”
Florence says there was a couple of people that she worked with who saw the incident with the seagull.
The 65-year-old, who is from Fort William, has worked on the railways for 44 years and been a guard on the Jacobite Steam Train for 31 years.

Over the years she has met a number of celebrities on the busy route ranging from Elaine C Smith to Not the Nine O’Clock News star Griff Rhys Jones.
