The Nigerian Economic Summit Group has appointed the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria LNG Limited, Adeleye Falade, to its Board of Directors as part of efforts to strengthen its policy advocacy and private sector-led economic reform agenda.

The appointment was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by the Chief Executive Officer of the NESG, Dr Tayo Aduloju.

According to the statement, the appointment was announced during the NESG’s 2026 Annual General Meeting held on July 14, 2026, at the organisation’s Summit House in Lagos and virtually.

The annual meeting reviewed the group’s activities and financial performance for the year ended December 31, 2025, and was attended by members of the board, auditors, company secretaries and other key stakeholders.

The statement said Falade’s appointment reflected the organisation’s commitment to strengthening its leadership with experienced professionals capable of advancing its mission of promoting sustainable economic development, inclusive growth and private sector-driven transformation.

“The appointment of Falade further reflects the NESG’s commitment to strengthening its leadership with accomplished professionals whose expertise and experience will support the Group’s mission of promoting sustainable economic development, inclusive growth, and private sector-driven transformation in Nigeria,” the statement read.

Falade currently heads Nigeria LNG Limited, one of the world’s leading liquefied natural gas companies, and brings nearly three decades of experience in the global oil and gas industry spanning upstream, midstream and liquefied natural gas operations.

According to the statement, he has held several senior technical, operational and executive leadership positions within the Shell Group and the international LNG industry across Europe, Asia, the Middle East, Russia and Africa.

His areas of expertise include operations management, engineering, production optimisation, business transformation, operational excellence, organisational effectiveness and stakeholder engagement.

Before assuming leadership of NLNG, Falade served as Managing Director of Brunei LNG Sendirian Berhad, where he led one of the world’s established LNG producers. He also served as Country Chair for Shell Namibia, overseeing the company’s business operations and stakeholder engagements in the country.

The statement added that he previously held key leadership positions at NLNG, including General Manager, Production, and Operations Manager, where he helped improve plant reliability, operational performance, safety and business efficiency.

It described him as being widely recognised for his commitment to operational discipline, governance, organisational transformation and sustainable value creation.

Falade holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Ibadan and a Master of Business Administration from Henley Business School, University of Reading, United Kingdom. He is also a Fellow of the Nigerian Society of Engineers and a registered engineer with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria.

The NESG said his appointment would strengthen the organisation’s work on policy dialogue and economic reforms.

“As a Director on the NESG Board, Falade brings deep expertise in energy, infrastructure, governance, business transformation, and national economic development. His extensive private-sector experience will contribute valuable perspectives to the NESG’s policy dialogue and its efforts to advance reforms that promote investment, productivity, competitiveness, and sustainable economic growth,” the statement said.

The group added that Falade’s experience in the energy sector and business transformation would further reinforce its evidence-based policy advocacy and efforts to support Nigeria’s long-term economic transformation.

“The NESG is confident that Falade’s wealth of experience and leadership in the energy sector, combined with his expertise in operational excellence, business transformation, and stakeholder engagement, will further strengthen the Group’s efforts in shaping evidence-based policy advocacy and advancing Nigeria’s economic transformation agenda,” the statement added.
