People were told to leave a music event in Birmingham mid-performance after two men men were stabbed.

Officers from West Midlands Police were called to the Cru2 event at Luna Springs on Lower Trinity Street, Digbeth, shortly 7pm on Saturday.

A force spokesperson said: “We were called to Lower Trinity Street, shortly before 7pm last night to reports two men had been stabbed and taken to hospital. Both men’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Officers remain in the area and at the scene while an investigation takes place to understand exactly what happened and find those responsible.”

A screen behind the DJ booth initially read: “There has been an incident. Can everyone please bare with us,” before later reading: “There has been an incident. Can everyone please leave the venue via the nearest exit,” Birmingham Live reports.

Two men suffered injuries that are “not believed to be life-threatening”, a spokesperson for West Midlands Police said.

The nine-hour music event was halted roughly halfway through.
