An estate in the Outer Hebrides is currently looking to hire a guest experience manager to oversee its day-to-day operation and management. The island can only be reached by air or ferry, and so applicant must be comfortable with island travel and the realities of living in a remote location.
The property benefits from stunning scenery and easy access to various scenic sandy beaches. According to the job listing on Greycoat Lumleys, there is also a wealth of outdoor activities available in the area surrounding the home and the local community is very welcoming.

The job listing states: “Greycoat Lumley’s client are seeking an experienced, proactive, and hands-on guest experience manager to oversee the day-to-day running of a beautiful private property on an island in the Outer Hebrides.
“Surrounded by stunning beaches, bays, and outstanding outdoor activities, this is a unique opportunity for a capable individual who enjoys island life, high standards of hospitality and working with discerning guests. The successful guest experience manager will act as the main point of contact for the property and will be responsible for ensuring it is always beautifully presented, well organised, and ready to welcome visitors.

The guest experience manager will have their accommodation provided for them that will consist of a one-bedroom property with its own separate entrance, with council tax and utility bills included. You will also be surrounded by spectacular scenery, with plenty of opportunity for picturesque coastal walks.
The job will be varied and involve a large number of different tasks, with the guest experience manager expected to have strong organisational skills and a friendly disposition. The successful applicant will also be expected to manage the property independently, so must be confident in their skills and talents.
Among the tasks you will be responsible for are managing guest reservations, preparing the property for arrivals, and ensuring it is kept clean throughout each stay. You will also welcome guests and act as the go-to point of contact during visits, helping them with any queries.
Other responsibilities include helping guests with island activities and travel arrangements and transporting them to and from the property when needed. Additionally, you will be expected to organise chefs for guests from an approved list and arrange accommodation for cooks when required.

According to the job listing, the guest experience manager will be expected to identify maintenance issues quickly and oversee contractors or appropriate solutions. You will also manage part-time housekeepers and lead housekeeping and property presentation when required.
Anybody who is considering applying for the position should have previous experience working in a private household or a similar guest-facing environment. You must also be confident dealing with high-end clients and able to provide them with friendly and discreet service.
Other important qualities you should have are excellent communication and organisational skills, flexibility, and the ability to be proactive. You must also be happy living and working in a remote island setting, and hold a full driving license as you will be expected to drive guests on occasion.
