A campervan has plunged into the water at a beach in Fife sparking a major emergency response.
The incident happened when the vehicle entered the water at Burntisland Beach this afternoon.
Emergency services, including Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, raced to Lammerlaws Road at 2:40pm.
Three appliances were drafted to the scene. The fire service assured the Record that those who were in the vehicle had got out before it entered the water.

It is not known how many people had been in the campervan. It is also not clear what caused the campervan to end up in the sea. The occupants were checked by medics on site as a precaution. It is understood no one was hurt.
Crews left after making the area safe at 3:10pm.
Photos taken at the popular summer spot show the majority of the campervan submerged in the sea. The driver’s door has been flung open and the whole motor has majority sunk due to the weight and the interior being flooded.
Another image shows at least two blue-lit fire engines parked up nearby, alongside worried motorists and onlookers.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We got a call at 2:40pm following two reports of a campervan collision on Lammerlaws Road in Burntisland, Fife.
“We mobilised three appliances to the scene and left after making the area safe at 3:11pm. All occupants were out of the vehicle prior to the fire service’s arrival and were given precautionary checks.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report of a vehicle going into the water at Burntisland Beach on Lammerlaws Road. No injuries have been reported and arrangements are being made to remove the vehicle.”
