Mother and boyfriend jailed for life for sadistic murder of young daughter
- Alexandra Walker, 26, and her boyfriend Harrison Simpson, 22, have been sentenced to life imprisonment for the sadistic murder of Walker’s two-year-old daughter, Isabelle Welsh.
- Isabelle suffered weeks of abuse, including 21 broken bones, before her death in September at her home in Thornaby, Teesside.
- Simpson was also convicted of sexually assaulting Isabelle, a charge from which Walker was cleared, alongside their convictions for murder and child cruelty.
- At Teesside Crown Court, Ms Justice Norton handed Simpson a minimum term of 28 years and six months, while Walker received a minimum of 22 years.
- The judge stated that Isabelle’s murder was the culmination of a series of assaults that the couple attempted to conceal.
