- Electrical Safety First tested 14 devices from AliExpress, eBay, Amazon Marketplace and TikTok Shop, finding all failed basic safety checks.
- The adaptors posed serious risks, including electric shock, electrocution and fire, due to issues like exposed live pins, missing safety shutters and poor material flammability.
- More than 10,000 of these unsafe adaptors may have already been sold to UK shoppers, according to available online information.
- The implicated online marketplaces have removed the identified listings, and Electrical Safety First advises consumers to purchase adaptors only from reputable retailers.
