The Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Sunday Katung, has condemned the attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward of Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State, describing the killing of innocent residents as a tragic reminder of the worsening insecurity confronting vulnerable communities.

In a statement on Monday, Katung expressed profound grief over the incident, which claimed several lives and left others injured, and extended his condolences to the bereaved families.

“I received with profound grief and deep concern the distressing news of the attack on Naridon Village in Kamaru Ward, Kauru Local Government Area, which tragically claimed the lives of innocent citizens and left several others injured,” the senator said.

He said the entire Kaduna South Senatorial District shared in the pain of the affected community, noting that no family should have to endure the loss of loved ones through violent attacks.

The lawmaker prayed for the repose of the souls of those killed and wished those receiving treatment a speedy recovery.

Katung described the latest attack as a painful reminder of the urgent need to strengthen security across communities, stressing that residents should be able to live, farm, and pursue their livelihoods without fear.

He called on security agencies to intensify efforts to identify, apprehend, and prosecute those responsible for the attack, insisting that the people of Naridon and other vulnerable communities deserve more than sympathy.

“The recurring violence against innocent and hardworking citizens must not be allowed to become a part of our reality,” he said.

The senator also pledged to continue working with Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, security agencies, traditional rulers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to restore lasting peace across the district.

He commended the Kaduna State Government for its swift response to the incident, particularly its directive to the Kaduna State Emergency Management Agency to provide immediate relief materials and humanitarian assistance to affected families.

Katung further appealed to residents to remain calm, vigilant, and cooperate with security agencies by providing credible information that could help prevent further attacks and bring the perpetrators to justice.

He urged citizens to remain united in the face of adversity, expressing hope that collective efforts would restore peace and security to communities across Kaduna South.
