Accord Party governorship candidate in Taraba State, Professor Jerome Nyameh, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, for approving the establishment of the Nigerian Army’s newly created 10th Division, with its headquarters in Jalingo, Taraba State.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Taraba, Nyameh described the creation of the division as a significant milestone in strengthening Nigeria’s security architecture, noting that its operational jurisdiction across Taraba and Adamawa states would enhance the military’s capacity to respond swiftly to security threats.
He said the strategic expansion is expected to improve regional stability and address the unique security challenges confronting communities in the North-East.
According to Nyameh, the President’s decision demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding lives, protecting livelihoods and fostering lasting peace in the affected states.
He expressed optimism that the new division would contribute significantly to improving security and supporting development across the region.
