ITV’s Dr Amir Khan has issued an urgent warning to the public regarding a fake AI video of him advertising a weight loss drug that even his own family members believed to be real.
The TV star, known for his appearances on Lorraine and Good Morning Britain has taken to Instagram to warn his followers not to buy a weight loss medication called Osanix ‘under any circumstances’.
Sharing an image of the drug on his screen, he shared a video urging people not to spend a penny on the product as it ‘could be riddled with side effects’.
He started by saying: “Right team. You know I hate making these kind of videos, I hate it so much but my hand has been forced yet again.
“Another company is fake using my image and using AI around my mouth and the words that I’m saying to sell a b***s*** nonsense product.
“It’s called Osanix. So many people have messaged me asking whether they should take it for weight loss. I’ve even had Whatsapp messages from aunties and uncles saying they’ve seen me advertise this.”
Appearing rather frustrated, Dr Khan reiterated: “It’s not me it’s fake AI they’re using some old video of mine and rehashing it into a fake. They’ve used other celebrities as well like Peter Kay and Jeremy Clarkson, other people who have said they’ve used it and lost weight on it.
“It’s not real, do not buy it. I don’t know what’s in it, it could be riddled with side effects, I wouldn’t buy it. I wouldn’t spend a penny on it, I wouldn’t put it in my body.
“If a company has to use fake AI nonsense and use someone who people trust to sell their stuff, that company and product cannot be trusted.”

He concluded: “Do not buy this product under any circumstances. I hate wasting my time on this but unfortunately it’s gonna become more and more common and I will try and call out each fake product as it comes along.”
Lorraine Kelly re-shared the post to her own Instagram Stories to alert her followers of the false advertisement.
Social media users in the comments fumed as one wrote: “Sue them!”
Another chimed in: “Thanks Amir for alerting me. It’s so dangerous.”
