Five of Trump’s worst jokes from the White House Correspondents’ Dinner
Some of the president’s jokes were met with silence from the audience
- Stairs: Trump joked that a senator’s wife asked him to come up the stairs and “make love” to her, to which the senator replied: “I can’t do both.”
- Anderson Cooper: Trump said that longtime CNN anchor Anderson Cooper has “got a little different persuasion than me, in many ways actually”, in an apparent reference to the fact that Cooper is gay.
- Bruce Springsteen: Trump complained that Springsteen made “four political speeches in his three-hour show”, and joked that the rocker’s tour had been renamed “Bored in the USA”.
- Dylan Mulvaney: Trump made a bizarre comparison between CNN’s Kaitlan Collins and transgender actor and influencer Dylan Mulvaney. The pair are both young women, but otherwise do not resemble each other.
- Trump 2028: Trump joked that he would run for president again and donned a ‘Trump 2028’ hat. Such a move would be barred by the Constitution.
