A delivery driver tracked a man 1.5 miles across Glasgow by following his AirTag before tackling him to the ground after his e-bike was stolen in Glasgow.
Vikas Dahiya – who spotted his bike being taken – was able to use his tracking app to trace it. The 27-year-old parked up in the city centre and went to deliver food to an apartment – but before he got to the door, he spotted the robbery take place.
Vikas noticed a police vehicle nearby and quickly showed officers his app. He got in the car – and when he saw the bike and the alleged thief in the distance, he sprinted out and ran over and grabbed him.
Police were then seen taking over, and cops have since confirmed that a 46-year-old man has been charged in connection.
Vikas said: “I didn’t want to hurt the guy – I just wanted my bike. Theft in Glasgow is really, really bad. Thieves just break the locks – they do it in broad daylight and even from your own home.”

Vikas works 25 hours a week as a delivery driver for Uber Eats, Just Eat, and others, on top of his 40-hour hotel job, to make ends meet.
The incident took place back in April, but Vikas says thefts have now cost him £3,200, in replaced bikes, repairs, and lost wages, prompting him to take steps to catch the thieves, such as tagging and tracking his bikes.
Vikas, who also makes YouTube videos while delivering food, added: “All this has been very expensive and began to make me feel scared and paranoid about my bikes. I was scared about confronting thieves, but I know I can run very, very fast.”
Vikas got his bike back, with damaged pedals and mirrors. He had to spend £200 to have it fixed, and lost £700 in wages because of the missed Uber Eats delivery, and other jobs he couldn’t complete.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 7.10pm on Friday, April 17, 2026, officers were made aware of the theft of an ebike in the Mitchel Street area of Glasgow. The bike was traced nearby a short time later. A 46-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection. A report was submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
