Lawyer Inibehe Effiong reveals why EFCC invited Randy Peter, Mama Pee

Inibehe Effiong, the legal representative to Mama Pee qnd Randy Peter, has revealed why the duo were invited by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

DAILY POST reports that the two activists and prominent supporters of Peter obi, presidential candidate for the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, honoured the EFCC invitation on Wednesday at about 1:00 pm and were released 11 hours later.

Following public concerns about their encounter with the EFCC, their lawyer, Inibehe Effiong, in a lengthy Facebook post on Thursday, revealed that they were invited following an allegation of naira abuse.

He explained that the duo visited the commission after receiving two invitations dated 24th June, 2026 and 6th July 2026.

While appreciating the public for their concerns, Effiong said, “Our clients are in high spirits and they appreciate the concerns expressed by spirited Nigerians regarding their safety. We will provide more information about this matter in due course.

“They were invited by the EFCC over allegation of abuse of the Naira by separate invitation letters. We wrote to the Commission to reschedule the meeting to Wednesday, 15th July, 2026 since our clients were not available on the originally scheduled date.”
