A community leader was killed after security forces repelled a bandit attack on Yankamaye Ward in Tsanyawa Local Government Area of Kano State.
The incident was disclosed in a post shared on X on Wednesday night by security analyst Bakatsine.
According to the post, the bandits invaded the area and engaged security personnel in a fierce gun battle. However, the troops successfully resisted the attack, forcing the assailants to flee after suffering heavy losses.
Bakatsine said the security forces also recovered livestock that had earlier been stolen by the attackers during the raid.
Despite the successful operation, the attack claimed the life of the community leader of Takatsaba, a nearby community.
“Alhamdulillah, our security forces stood their ground and successfully repelled the bandits during the fierce clash in Yankamaye Ward, Tsanyawa LGA, Kano State. Stolen livestock were recovered and the attackers were forced to retreat after sustaining significant losses,” the post read.
“Sadly, the community leader of Takatsaba was killed in the attack. May Allah grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and give his family and the entire community the strength to bear this loss.”
